In the last head-to-head matchup, Berrettini managed to school Tsitsipas in a surgical display of backhand perfection. Still, that was ages ago; a single swallow doesn’t make it summer. Now, it’s fair to say that Tsitsipas' recent love-sets have been... well, less than inspiring. Are we talking Greek tragedy here? Not quite, but someone ought to tell him that 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' isn't a tennis strategy.
Berrettini, while unseeded, has been delivering the goods with the consistency of a Swiss watch - or more accurately, one that says 'Made in Italy'. He's been sweeping across the court like some kind of bespectacled, limbo-dancing superhero smashed back to back wins. Mind you, he did stumble against Draper, but hey, even Superman trips on his cape once in a while.
On the other hand, our Greek Adonis, Tsitsipas, who’s seeded 4th, looked like he’d rather be on the beach sipping Ouzo than sweating out tie-breakers. Still, definitely not to be dismissed as a Grecian Urn gathering dust, he has potential. But let's see if he can break his recent streak of close shaves and bring home the olive wreath.
Given the recent stupendous performances, and various spirits haunting Tsitsipas, my money's on the Italian stallion, Berrettini. Tsitsipas might put up a fight, but Berrettini's form suggests he'd say, 'That’s cute. Now watch this.'
Albert's Prediction: Berrettini in 3 sets.
