Lulu Sun in straight sets.
If you squint hard enough at this matchup, you may be forgiven for thinking it's more lopsided than a seesaw with an elephant on one side. On one court, we have Lulu Sun, who's been burning brighter than her namesake as the 7th seed in the tournament. Then there's Anouck Vrancken Peeters - a scrappy contender, to be sure - but as unseeded as an apple after a vigorous hour with a paring knife.
Now don't miss understand me, I do have a touch of optimism for Anouck, but there's a limit. I mean, I'd like to wake up tomorrow sporting a six-pack and hair like George Clooney's, but we can't have it all, can we? Statistically speaking, Peeters being unseeded is like attempting to cross the Atlantic... in a dinghy... with a leak... and a hurricane heading your way.
On the other hand, we have Sun, spinning around the court like a dervish in Nikes, showing her opponents the meaning of love - in the tennis sense at least - without even working up a sweat. Let's just say, Sun knows how to turn up the heat.
As for my prediction? Well, as much as I like to root for the underdog, today the smart money’s on Sun to shine down decisively on Peeters here. Sorry Anouck, but this is likely not your day... or your decade.
Albert’s Prediction: Lulu Sun in straight sets.
