My Prediction
Melbourne Storm by 4How delightfully predictable we are, my dear listener, anticipating another bell-ringer between the Cronulla Sharks and Melbourne Storm. Truly the anticipation is agonizing, isn't it? But let me cut to the chase.
We find ourselves at round 11, with plenty more footy to go before we crown one of our gladiators as premiers. Historically, Melbourne has been the proverbial thunder to Cronulla's drizzle, although occasionally our Sharks have managed to bit the Storm in the bum (I remind you of the delicious upset on May 11th 2024).
Glancing at this season's records, both teams seem to be neck and neck, Melbourne featuring a 6-3 record and Cronulla nipping at their heels with a 6-4 tally. Makes the race more interesting, don't it?
As for their recent performances, both sides have hit their stride. Melbourne flattened the Wests Tigers with no remorse, reminded the South Sydney Rabbitohs not to get ahead of themselves, and got a little humbled by the Dolphins. Cronulla, on the other hand, also reminded the Manly Sea Eagles about the importance of humility, and held Parramatta Eels at bay, among other things. Quite a match we have in our hands!
Even in the standings, these teams are dueling it out, jousting for position, with Melbourne perched at #3, and Cronulla basking just below at #5.
After rigorous contemplation, absorbing copious amounts of coffee, and scrutinizing these teams through a figurative magnifying glass, I have arrived at a conclusion. Prepare yourselves...
