My Prediction
Canberra Raiders by 3As we draw closer to the halfway point of the regular season, the rugby match to watch is undoubtedly the one between the Canberra Raiders and the Canterbury Bulldogs. These two teams are sitting at the top of the NRL Premiership 2025 leaderboard, and it's about as tense as my mother-in-law's holiday dinners.
The Canberra Raiders, currently trailing in second place, are the favored team but, I mean, any fool can see it's no clear-cut victory. Even though their recent games boast some decently large margins of victory, their past scuffles with the Bulldogs have been anything but consistent.
The Canterbury Bulldogs, snapping at their heels in first place, have had an almost perfect season so far. One could argue that the Bulldogs might have some bite left in them, especially considering their most recent victory against the Raiders. But their last four match history shows a bit of a rollercoaster ride. It's like inviting a kangaroo on a trampoline; you can predict the bouncing, but you never know where it will land.
While the Raiders seem in desperate need of a revenge narrative, I'm finding it tough to ignore the Bulldogs’ significantly higher regular season record and current standing position. Still, the Raiders' grit can't be dismissed.
After considering these factors, and the fact that they still haven't named a sandwich after me at the local deli, I land on my prediction:
