Canterbury Bulldogs by 9Ah, the unmistakable scent of freshly-cut turf and inflated latex – more aroma therapy than thugby really, ain’t it? Quite the meet coming up folks - the delectable clash between Canterbury Bulldogs and the Sydney Roosters. I suggest you fetch your crystal ball or simply listen up.
Canterbury Bulldogs are having quite a gusty run this season, sitting pretty on the throne as #1 in the NRL Premiership 2025. Their record is pretty spectacular, 8 wins out of 9 games! Not many teams can boast of such numbers, folks. Recently, they've been throwing points at the scoreboard like confetti at a wedding, notching up convincing wins against Canberra Raiders and Gold Coast Titans.
On the other side, the Sydney Roosters seem to have been caught playing tic-tac-toe, sitting at #9 in the Premiership. Don't get me wrong, they've got spirit, popping out 4 wins from 9 games themselves, but that's like comparing apples to a rather nice Chardonnay. The recent encounter with Dolphins and St. George Illawarra Dragons did see them surfing up big numbers, but their consistency is as reliable as English weather.
You’d expect past play dates between these two would provide variety, but remarkably they've been fairly predictable. Roosters have steadily found themselves plucking feathers from the wrong side of the nest, with only a single win from the previous three matchups against the Bulldogs. It seems the Bulldogs’ bark and bite are equally fearsome.
So my constituents, even with sports being as unpredictable as a toddler on sugar rush, I fancy the Bulldogs' chances. They've got the form, they've got the pedigree and they're dealing out wins like handshakes at a business convention.
