Slapping us right in the kisser is the historic feud between the Hanshin Tigers and Yokohama DeNA BayStars. Hotter than a New York subway in August, this clash of titans seems to favor the Tigers in recent bouts. As if the Tigers haven't spent enough time prancing around in the winner's circle, a glance at their regular season record paints an even prettier picture. With a jaw-dropping 45-31 record, they're not exactly starved for victories this season.
As for the BayStars, they seem to have misplaced their GPS and veered off-course just ever so slightly. With a 36-37 record and recent hiccups against the Tigers, their performance has been as satisfying as non-alcoholic beer.
Recent numbers suggest a touchdown love affair with a side order of 'heck yes' for the Hanshin Tigers; however, the BayStars have shown some feistiness with triumphs over the Chunichi Dragons that might be enough to give the Tigers something to sweat about, reminiscent of a calculus final.
