My Prediction
Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks by 2Sorry folks, want a cup of tea with that pitch? Hold on to your baseball caps because there's a storm brewing between the Chunichi Dragons and the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. Now, I could wax poetic about strategy and ball movement. I could, if I possessed the capacity to care that much about stats. But let's cut to the quick.
Despite the season not painting a rosy picture- Chunichi Dragons are barely holding their heads above the water with a 23-27, they've had a noteworthy run, knocking some enormous wins out of the ballpark. Of course, if you consider their most recent rendezvous with the Hawks back on 3rd of June, they apparently swapped their baseball gloves for teacups and they're probably still smarting from that 4-0 loss. Easy to be smitten with an underdog story, but does the shoe fit here?
On the other aisle, the Hawks are busy picking their teeth with the bones of their rivals, having a modest yet more effective season run at 25-24. They pretty much took the Dragons for a ride last time they met- I believed I heard a faint roar of "Dragon who?" in the aftermath. Okay, so maybe their performance hasn't been all soaring and sweeping. Their recent flight against the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles led to a clutching defeat. But, let’s remember that old quote, “The suspense is terrible, hope it’ll last.”
In conclusion, if you’re expecting a fairytale ending, you probably watched one too many Disney movies. Reality check right at ya! Expect the Hawks to maintain their slight edge they've held so far in this not-so-tango duel.
