Yokohama DeNA BayStars by 2
Slap on your rally caps, fans, we've got a scorcher of a matchup as the Yokohama DeNA BayStars prepare to clash with the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. Despite the recent head-to-head chicanery, with the teams trading wins and losses like vintage baseball cards, the BayStars had the upper hand, walking away victorious in three out of the last five meetings.
While the Golden Eagles might be on home-turf this time around, let's not discount the fact that the BayStars have been honing their swings, boasting a stellar 27-22 record in the regular season, right compared to the Eagles’ somewhat lackluster performance of 24-27. The BayStars have also been on a bit of a tear recently absent the minor hiccup against the Eagles themselves, taste-testing victory in their recent trysts with the Tokyo Yakult Swallows.
Meanwhile, the Golden Eagles seem to have misplaced their mojo somewhere between the dugout and the diamond. Sure, they've managed a few wins here and there, but a quick look at the recent scores shows that, just like my ex, consistency isn't exactly their strong suit.
That said, in the grand game of baseball, curveballs are in abundance. But as of now, my pesos are on the BayStars shining a tad bit brighter.
