Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks by 2Let's dive in, shall we? The Saitama Seibu Lions and Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks have a history that reads like a melodrama on a soap opera. In their past encounters, the Lions have been showing some fine feline prowess, evident in their recent victory. However, let's not forget the twice the Hawks absolutely roasted them with some surprising blowouts.
This season, the Lions are keeping their heads high with their 20-16 record, giving the Hawks, trailing at 17-19, a reason to sharpen their talons. But records are just numbers, and the Hawks have shown they can orchestrate a ten-run concert.
The Hawks shouldn't be underestimated. Despite a few bumps, they look as if they're tuning up for more consistent performances. Their recent run of form has been impressive, doing the cha-cha with the Orix Buffaloes, and meeting the Lions toe to toe.
On the flip side, the Lions, while showing a strong paw in recent results, still got tripped up royally in their recent meeting with the Hawks. Might as well have napped that game out.
So, when taking all the melodrama, the soap opera of stats, and the roller-coaster relationships under consideration, it looks like the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks have a bit more bite. Not a full lion's bite, mind you, but enough to take the day by a narrow margin.
