Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles by 2
Oh joy, we're taking another thrilling look at the Nippon Professional Baseball matchup - today's victims are the Chiba Lotte Marines and those feisty Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles. Get your snacks ready.
Now, the Marines sailed into uncharted waters with a recent pounding from the Saitama Seibu Lions. If their scoring was contagious, they apparently wore a mask and sanitized hands incessantly because they've got a big fat zero across three games. This wouldn’t turn heads if we were playing golf – but I digress.
Enter the Golden Eagles. You remember? Their record isn't exactly golden, but it's rather less tarnished than the Marines. Their last tussle with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters sort of left them hamstrung, but they kept things a tad closer.
History tends to repeat itself, or so they say. They've crossed stumps a few times recently, those Marines and Eagles, and it's been a mixed bag of Tootsie Pops - some losses, some wins - with neither overly dominating.
That said, the Marines have the edge thanks to a person-sized coffee mug somewhere. But, in honor of their recent scoreless trilogy, I wouldn’t bet your lunch money on them just yet.
