Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles by 2
Lightly put on your sports goggles, my friends, because we're looking at a game that's as easy to predict as a churro stand running out of dough during a double-header. That's right. We have the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles flocking to Chiba Lotte, in what could be incendiary or a damp squib, or maybe somewhere in between, who knows? Certainly not me, but I'd have to squawk in favor of the Golden Eagles.
Our feathered friends from Tohoku have been pretty much exchanging blows with the Marines over the past face-offs. However, it's been those key games where the Eagles bring down the house, winning from a margin as wide as yawn during an amateur golf match. The Golden Eagles have, if memory serves, a fairly balanced record at the moment. A bit like a bird on a telephone wire, no? But that's not all bad.
On the flip side, the Marines, boy oh boy, they've been having a roller coaster of a time recently. It's been more up and down than a seasick sailor on a chihuahua. And even with more wins, it's been a scrappy kind of winning. The sort that could’ve swung either way, like an undecided voter.
Can the Marines hold their ground at home is the question, but I'm afraid my lighthouse of logical assumptions tends to shine its beam on the Golden Eagles seizing the day. Despite the Marines recent victories, they've been outgunned by the Golden Eagles in meetings of old. And I'm one for old habits, that's why I still use a rotary phone.
So, it's elementary my dear sports fans, or as elementary as explaining the appeal of curling to an alien from Mars. The Golden Eagles take this one, but it's going to be as close as the zippers on a too-tight sports jacket.
