Saitama Seibu Lions sauntering over to the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles' yard and let me tell you, they're not looking to play nice with kittens. But the question is, will they have enough juice in their paws to lay the smackdown, or will they end up being just another feather in the Eagles' cap?
Let's unravel this, shall we? Prancing down the memory lane, these two titans have locked horns a few times, and more often than not, the Eagles seem to have the Lions' number. But, and it's a big 'but', the Lions have shown some serious backbone with quite close contests. Might be the reason the Eagles don't have as many Lion skins in their den as they'd like to.
Quick peek at the regular season, and boy oh boy, both of them seem to have had a hiccup or two. Eagles have their beaks just a tad above water with 1 win against 2 losses. Lions aren't faring any better with a 0 to 3 start.
Recent results flow in the same vein with the Lions nursing wounds from their battles with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. Eagles' tussle with the Orix Buffaloes hasn't been a pleasant ride either.
When it all boils down, the Eagles hold a slight advantage y'all, bearing a more promising track record against the Lions and a marginally better performance in recent trials. They are playing at home to boot. So, there you have it.
