Edmonton Oilers by 2Alright, let's crash this ice party. Dropping the puck are the St. Louis Blues and the Edmonton Oilers. Honestly, I could use a Blues and Oilers cocktail right now, but I digress.
Stepping into the net for the Blues, we've got Jordan Binnington and Joel Hofer, both rocking 90+% save percentages over the last month. That's solid, folks. I mean, provided they don't get distracted by a sneaky puck or something.
On the Oilers' side, a couple of goalies that are no strangers to the rink, Calvin Pickard and Stuart Skinner. Both hovering around the 90% mark in terms of saves, but Skinner's last month shows some slip-ups, sitting at an 86.3% save percentage. That's unsettling, like finding out your hotdog is mostly wheat and soy.
More show-offs from the Blues, we've got Robert Thomas and Dylan Holloway. Robert seems like a good old assist machine with 21 last month alone, while Dylan is dropping goals and assists like they're going out of style. Jordan Kyrou, the man's last month hit a 9-goal high. Impressive, sort of like finding an extra nugget in your fast food order.
Over at the Oilers, the name Draisaitl is echoing around. Leon Draisaitl, the man of the hour. 6 goals and 6 assists last month, and 52 goals this season. That's a lot kids, that's a lot. Connor McDavid, practically a living legend, but his performance last month was rather lukewarm, a mere 3 goals but 8 assists.
Referring to the ancient history of past matchups, Edmonton seems to have the upper hand, about as surprising as realizing your socks are slightly mismatched. The Oilers clipped the Blues in 3 of the 5 last games. But, please, hold your applause.
For regular season records, and yes, this matter, Oilers slither past the Blues with a slightly better record. And if one wants to look at recent results, I mean if you're into that sort of thing, the story isn't shining brightly for the Oilers, suffering two defeats in their last games.
