Los Angeles Kings by 2Whoa, gear up for a doozy in the frosty arena, folks! We've got the Los Angeles Kings squaring off with the Seattle Kraken, and boy, is it going to be a spectacle!
Alright, let's break down these behemoths, shall we?
In the Kings' court, we have the formidable Darcy Kuemper and David Rittich holding fort, and they've been keeping that goalpost tighter than my first date’s father. Kuemper notably boasts 1167 saves with a save percentage of 92.2 this season. Rittich isn't far behind with 632 saves and a save percentage of 90.9. Not too shabby, eh?
However, Kraken has their own saving grace in goalkeepers Joey Daccord and Philipp Grubauer. Daccord's racked up an impressive 1430 saves with a save percentage of 92.7 this season. Grubauer??? Hmm... but he does boast 597 saves with 87.5% saves. Could be worse!
Moving on to the core composition, the Kings have been getting some pretty sweet action from Adrian Kempe, Quinton Byfield, and my old pal Kevin Fiala this season, who've boasted 34, 23, and 35 goals respectively. Kings are truly living up to their royal title!
On Krakens end, reports came in that Jared McCann and Jaden Schwartz have been quite the dynamos scoring 22 and 25 goals respectively this season. Solid stuff, no doubt.
Now, let's talk history. Looking back, these two have gone head to head quite a bit with results ebbed and flowed like the tide.
As for regular seasons, Kings hold a lopsided advantage with a record of 47-9-24. Kraken though, they’re not far behind with a record of 35-6-40.
In the end, It's going to be a whale of a fight, pardon my pun! While Kings look impressive, let's not forget their recent stumble against Kraken. But then again, Kings went on a neat winning streak after that. Kraken has been somewhat erratic, winning some losing some.
So, here’s what I think. With all the stats, history, cheesecake, and a bit of gut feeling, my money's on...
