Tampa Bay Lightning by 3Alright ladies and gentleman, let’s dive straight into this NHL matchup between the Tampa Bay Lightning and the New York Rangers.
Tampa is coming in strong with the likes of Andrei Vasilevskiy and Jonas Johansson fiercely guarding the net. Vasilevskiy has been nothing short of excellent, boasting a whopping 1473 saves this season. At the other end, the Rangers have Igor Shesterkin and an underperforming Jonathan Quick with the task of deflecting Tampa's aggressive offense.
Talking about offense, for the Lightning we have star players like Nikita Kucherov, Jake Guentzel, and Brandon Hagel, lighting up the scoreboard with their impressive stats, with quite a spotlight on Kucherov who has been firing on all cylinders, boasting 30 goals and 78 assists this season.
Though slightly the underdogs, the Rangers shouldn't be underestimated. With Artemi Panarin, Vincent Trocheck, and J.T. Miller on board, they've proven they can put up a good fight. Don't forget, Panarin managed an impressive 8 goals and 10 assists only last month.
Walking down the memory lane, previous encounters between the two teams seem to slightly sway in the favor of the Lightnings. I mean, I've seen squirrels keep better defense than Ranger's did the last time these two met.
Also, going by the recent results, Lightning seem to be slightly fizzing out in the last games but remember folks, they are still sitting pretty with their superior regular season record of 44-26. Rangers on the other hand, despite some recent wins, are still just a bouncing baby with a record of 36-33.
