Ottawa Senators by 2The upcoming hockey game we'd discuss? Ah, it's gonna be an interesting tug of war between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Ottawa Senators.
Let's talk about the goalies first, shall we? So the Blue Jackets have Elvis Merzlikins, who has conjured up a decent 89.1% save rate this season, not too shabby. Daniil Tarasov is another solid option between the pipes showing more heat as of recent with an 89.7% save rate. The Senators, however, have Linus Ullmark, who is pulling a whopping 94% save rate. Anton Forsberg overshadows even Ullmark with an impressive 95% save rate for the past month.
Now roll up your sleeves and let's dissect the players, too. Columbus is packing firepower with Boone Jenner, he's been doing okay this past month with 6 goals and 4 assists. And let's not forget Kirill Marchenko, who's averaged slightly above Jenner, piecing together 7 goals and 3 assists. But we all know the Senators have quite the arsenal as well with Jake Sanderson registering 5 goals and 6 assists in recent games and Drake Batherson serving up 6 goals and 5 assists, same as Jenner.
The past dance between these two teams? Well, the Senators seem to have a knack for tangoing with the Blue Jackets, winning 4 out of 5 recent games. The Blue Jackets, however, shouldn't be taken lightly. They have been consistently competitive and still managed to pull victories from the Senators in the past.
Their seasonal records have also been a seesaw game as the Senators stand with 41 wins while the Blue Jackets have 34. Recently, the Senators have done fairly well, and the Blue Jackets... well, they've been on quite the highs and lows, haven’t they?
