My Prediction
Toronto Raptors by 4Look at the impressive roster on both sides: Toronto Raptors and Philadelphia 76ers!
For the Raptors, we got quite a few outstanding players - Scottie Barnes, Immanuel Quickley, RJ Barrett, and Jakob Poeltl are worth mentioning. Barnes has been consistent, tallying 19.5 points per game this season, with his recent performance mirroring his season stats. Quickley's performance is equally impressive with his 20.7 points per game last month and Barrett's not too far behind with a spread of 18.5 points per game last month. However, today's injury list reads like a cliff hanger novel - Barrett and Quickley are both missing, which isn't great for the Raptors. Poeltl's out too. You can't quite replace these guys, it's like trying to substitute a steak with a tofu, good luck.
Contrast this with the 76ers - Quentin Grimes who has been exceptional with 26.6 points per game last month, double his season's average – talk about hitting a hot streak! Paul George, Kelly Oubre Jr., Andre Drummond – all rock solid players with commendable stats. Unfortunately for them, it looks like the 76ers' bench has been depleted faster than a grocery store in a snowstorm. Key players like Grimes, George, and Drummond are all on today's injured list.
Looking at the recent past, the Raptors have had an upper hand in matchups against the 76ers and they've had better luck recently. Raptors are performing well, except that unfortunate dunked-on-its-face performance against San Antonio. The 76ers, on the other hand, have seen a series of losses recently, reminding me of my attempts at online dating.
Both teams have had rough seasons (and who amongst us hasn't), but Toronto's managed a few more wins. Rankings-wise, neither team is making the eastern conference proud - with the Raptors at 11th spot and the 76ers languishing at 13th.
Circling back to our steak and tofu story, I think the Raptors, despite their injuries might have the edge here. The 76ers are more banged up than a bumper car and seem like they'd need an act of divine intervention to pull this off. So, let’s not keep you in suspense:
