My Prediction
Draper in straight sets.You glance at this match-up on a neon lit sportsbook screen and the first thing that screams out is the Tournament Seeding. Poor Kopriva, probably feeling a like a thanksgiving turkey in November, heading into this one as an unseeded underdog against our 5th seed, presiding pretty, Jack Draper.
A quick flashback of their historical head-to-heads and funnily enough, Kopriva didn't always play the bridesmaid. He managed to sneak one off Draper back on Mon Apr 15 2024. However, Draper slamming two wins on him kind of puts things into perspective for us. It's like your mom beating you at an arm wrestle. Twice. Not a good look, Vit.
Now, taking a peek at current form and boy, even my grandma's bingo numbers look more exciting. Kopriva, despite his best efforts, conceded to fresh-to-the-league Griekspoor in two straight sets. But don’t let that fool you, he managed to buck up and brush off Baez, Halys, Basavareddy and Švrčina on his way down to this round.
On the other side we have Draper, coolly cruising through all of his recent matchups, except a small hiccup against Ruud. If we looked at that as a speed bump, then he's probably built his own road here at the Internazionali d'Italia.
