My Prediction
Hawthorn Hawks by 14Alright, don't shake your maracas just yet, folks—where was I? Right, we're talking about an enthralling AFL round 5 game between Port Adelaide Power and the Hawthorn Hawks. I like a good underdog story, mind you, but things aren't looking good for the suffering Port Adelaide, now are they?
Let's take a gander deeper into this. The Power may have had a bit of a rattle in the start of the season, but remember that they have edged out the Hawks in their previous three matchups, even if that last win was as tight as a toupee on a windy day.
But it's time to get serious, the Hawks have been soaring high this season, boasting an impressive undefeated record and putting up some serious point totals in their games. They also hold a higher position in the standings—quite a bit higher than our friends at Port Adelaide, who frankly have been stumbling this season like a Kookaburra on off-peak flight hours.
But, let's give credit where it's due, Port Adelaide did show some teeth in that demolition job against Richmond. However, they're still unpredictable a little bit like an Australian weather forecast on any given day.
So for the betting folks, you might be tempted with that higher payout on Power, but my gut feeling—and note that my gut has been reliable only about half the time—my gut is telling me that loyalty won't be enough for the Power to overcome the momentum of the Hawks. So, I'd be putting my shrimps on the barbecue that the Hawks are going to flit off with this one.
