Western Bulldogs by 3Ah, ladies and gents, gather around and indulge me in a little chat about the mighty skirmish unfolding on the field this round. We have the Gold Coast Suns going toe-to-toe with the Western Bulldogs. Now, don't bite your nails off just yet, let's break it down.
Running our eyes across their recent performances, the Western Bulldogs bulldozed Port Adelaide, Greater Western Sydney, and St Kilda, potentially feeling a bit full of themselves, I'd say. However, not to be forgotten, they did get themselves in a pickle against Brisbane and Fremantle. Wakeup calls they were, as the Bulldogs were given a grim reminder that they didn't have those games in the doggy bag.
On the other side of the fence, the Gold Coast Suns. Well, they've had a few tough ones. Managed to squeeze past Adelaide, hammered North Melbourne, but then tripped over their shoelaces against Richmond and Brisbane. They managed to oust Sydney, but let's not make too much fuss about it.
Let's mention in passing their history together. Bulldog's last encounter with the Suns left them licking their wounds. But the Bulldogs hit back hard this time around, sunk their teeth in, and walked away the victors.
Let's be fair, we're at the halfway mark almost. The Suns are sitting comfortably at number 4, the Bulldogs aren't too far behind at number 6. This isn't an easy call to make; this is akin to choosing your favorite child, but I digress.
Seeing the performances, the position in the standings, and brushing the cobwebs off their history, I'd say the Bulldogs have an outside chance. So, if you've bet your house, your car, and your grandma's jewelry, here's my two cents.
