Samsonova in 3 sets.Talk about an interesting match-up we've got here in the Round of 16 at Roland Garros between Liudmila Samsonova and Qinwen Zheng! Quick inspection of past matches between these hard-hitting athletes shows us that Samsonova has a slight upper hand, winning two of the three games. However, the scores were quite tight, not exactly a landslide victory if you ask me.
Taking a quick gander at their recent performances, both seem to be on a roll with just one blemish each in their last five matches. However, the 8th seed Zheng, has demonstrated exemplary skills against high-level competition, not that Samsonova is exactly slacking off taking the 19th seed.
