Keys in 3 sets.Surely, betting is a gentleman's game and the Roland Garros doesn't disappoint. Now look at this, our court queens, Madison Keys and Hailey Baptiste, are locked in an incredible duel here at the clay court. Keys, copious with consistency, is seeded at a high 7, while Baptiste, the surprise packet, is the unseeded underdog.
In their previous encounters, Keys has clung to the victory twice over Baptiste's single win. The bookies must've been watching because Keys plays the favorite tune for them, don't you think? Has a nice, victorious ring to it.
Now, onto recent form. Baptiste seems to have found her rhythm with only one setback in her last five outings. Speed bumps happen, it's not all roses and sunshine, little darling. Keys, however, is not to be outdone with four of her last five encounters resulting in triumphant champagne showers. But oh boy, a slip up against Stearns!
Now, for the brass tacks! In the game of love (no, not that kind), Keys definitely has the bandwidth to outscore Baptiste, but if you're looking for a rollicking roller-coaster of a match, I'd say we are in for a three-setter. I won't sugarcoat it, Keys seems more likely to have that satisfying 'oh la la' moment at the end. But I must empathize, keep those white kerchiefs ready just in case Baptiste pulls off a surprise.
