Saitama Seibu Lions by 2In this corner, we have the Saitama Seibu Lions. In the other corner, the Chiba Lotte Marines. It's like having a lion fight a marine; it's not even fair! I mean come on! Have we learned nothing from Gladiator?
Looking at the past matchups, do I even need to point out that the Lions have consistently shown the Marines the shape of the sky? It's like a beautiful, twisted version of The Lion King every single time.
I mean, the Marines attempted a riot on May 23 and did well with a score of 9 but had a quick relapse into their aquatic life with scores of 1 and 0 in the two succeeding games. Meanwhile, the Lions are decorating their den with runs scored by the plenty.
Let's not forget the regular season records. You know, when the Lions managed 40 wins, as opposed to the not-so-marine-like performance by the Marines with their 30 wins. Yes, 40-39 and 30-46. I am not great at math, but I am pretty sure 40 is bigger than 30.
And moving on to the recent chapters in the Lion-Marine novel. The Lions are showing signs of fatigue, managing only one win from their last five outings. The Marines have been no better either, just flipping to the back, they’ve also only secured a single victory from the same number of games.
But let me tell ya, when a slightly tired lion faces off against a marine with poorly inflated water wings... well, you get my drift.
