Duke Blue Devils by 25Look, if I told you we were chatting about a basketball showdown between the mighty Duke Blue Devils, hung up comfortably at the number 2 spot and the rather unfortunate Miami Hurricanes, currently unranked, you'd probably already be guessing where this was headed. But, let's do the dance anyway.
We've got some flashy stars on the Duke side, right? Cooper Flagg seems born to wear blue, averaging 20.1 points per game last month. Don't overlook Kon Knueppel either, putting up a tidy 14.3 points in the same period. And who could forget the contributions by the dynamic Tyrese Proctor? Miami are likely getting nightmares just thinking about these three.
Now, don't get me wrong, Miami's got their shooting stars too. You've got Matthew Cleveland who has really been putting his back into it, racking up an average of 21.9 points per game last month. Lynn Kidd and Brandon Johnson have both put up some respectable numbers, no doubt there, but will it be enough?
Recent history also seems to support the idea that Duke's team has been eating their Wheaties, most evident in their regular season record of 24-3 compared to Miami's somewhat saggy 6-21. The last five meetings have seen Duke dominate four out of the five times. A true optimist might say Miami's due for a win, but a realist might say, well, you know...
Recalling their recent results, Duke is on a four-game win streak, while Miami...well, let's just say they've had better days. It's called sportsmanship though, folks, anyone could theoretically win.
