Houston Rockets by 2Hold on tight because this one's shaping up to be more entertaining than a frog doing the Macarena. Coming straight out from Houston, we got some guns blazing with Alperen Sengun and Jalen Green, both of whom have been cooking hotter than a southern barbecue. Each averaging over 19 points in their recent games and taking into account Thompson's contribution, too, they've certainly been setting the stats ablaze!
However, one of their prime contributing dishes, Tari Eason, might be sitting out due to some health hiccups, which is like rocking up to a gunfight toting only a rubber band. Might not bode well.
Moving across the court to Los Angeles, furnished with one-man typhoon Luka Dončić, averaging a massive 30.8 points last month, and a healthy portion of Austin Reaves, it's not a team to sniff at. However, LeBron James is marked doubtful, and in basketball terms, that's similar to losing your paddle halfway up the creek.
Direct your eyeballs to the past court showdowns, folks. Out of the last five, Rockets managed to batten down the hatches and clinch three, illustrating a bit of mojo going against the Lakers. However, the Lakers have been faring well in their most recent games.
Given their current standings, both teams are brawling to be top dogs in the Western Conference. However, Rockets crucially hold the #2 spot and have a slightly more flattering season record.
So all in all, it would be wise to anticipate a titanic tussle. But with Houston holding an edge in numerous departments - even with an injured player - I’m edging towards them. It’ll be close though; more tense than a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
