Let's pull up a chair and crack open this can of statistical worms. What we have here is the Portland Trail Blazers galloping into Atlanta to square off against the Hawks. Now, despite the Blazers recent misfortunes, they've got some serious fire power. Deni Avdija's last month performance was impressive scoring 23.4 points per game, not to ignore Shaedon Sharpe and Anfernee Simons solid contributions.
The Hawks, however, aren't out on the streets picking daisies either. Trae Young is a triple threat scoring on average 24.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and an awe-inspiring 11.6 assists per game, this season. Not to mention the important contributions from Onyeka Okongwu and Dyson Daniels.
The historical dance between these two teams shows some feisty battles, making this about as predictable as a coin toss by a caffeinated squirrel. Given their past face-offs, the home court advantage seems to play a significant role in determining the victor.
Though the Hawks have been showing slightly better form in the regular season with 36 wins against Blazers 32, both teams have been playing a bit like a bull in a china shop recently. Let’s just say both teams would prefer a do-over of their recent games.
In the current standings, the Trail Blazers look up the ladder from the 12th spot in the Western Conference, while the Hawks have set up a cozy nest at number 7 in the East. Considering the mix of high intensity players, past battles, and recent forms, I've devised my prediction.
Albert’s Prediction: Atlanta Hawks by 7
