Arizona Diamondbacks by 6
Heated up at the heart of the season, we've got the Arizona Diamondbacks getting ready to square off with the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Coors Field, with its reputation for being a hitter's playground, should make this an interesting match for sure.
In the not-so-fearsome corner, we've got the Rockies pitcher, Carson Palmquist. With his ERA tickling the upper eights and a WHIP of 1.84 after only 6 appearances, he's pretty much serving batting practice out there.
Pitted against this fellow is the Diamondbacks' pitcher, Merrill Kelly, whose season has been as kind as a free refill at a lemonade stand – 3.57 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and 9.0 K/9. I'd say it's like comparing a T-bone steak to a turkey sandwich.
In the batting department, Arizona seems to be holding the hot sauce. Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Ketel Marte, and Eugenio Suarez are hitting everything like they've got an unlimited supply of quarters at the arcade.
On the other side, the Colorado Rockies take comfort in the likes of Tyler Freeman and Mickey Moniak. Unfortunately, these guys are more like a small bowl of salsa against Arizona's spicy enchilada lineup.
Past meetings suggest Arizona’s had the Rockies' number, most recently a blowout 14-8 win on June 21st. Don't get me started on their regular season records. Arizona’s sitting at .500, balanced as a budget, while the Rockies have been living the nightmare at a toe-curling 17-58. Taking into account recent outcomes, the Diamondbacks seem largely unscathed while the Rockies appear to be tongue-tied.
Given these considerations, hold onto your seatbelts, as I foresee an all-out Diamondbacks domination. Drumroll, please...
