New York Mets by 2Alright, gather round, sports fans. We've got the New York Mets playing guest to the Kansas City Royals at the Kauffman Stadium. Now that's a place where batters tend to have a bit more luck, so anticipation is high.
For the Mets, we've got Clay Holmes on the mound, who's had a good run this season with a decent 3.38 ERA and those 7.6 K/9 in 18 appearances. On the other side, we've got Noah Cameron for the Royals, sporting an impressive 2.66 ERA and 7.4 K/9 in his 11 appearances to date.
Putting eyes on the batters, Brandon Nimmo and Juan Soto for the Mets have been solid contributors with those batting averages over than .295 and they ain't shy on hitting them home runs either. Royals' Freddy Fermin and Salvador Perez have had an equally impressive run, but let's not forget about Angel Zerpa here, who's apparently pitch perfect.
Looking back, recent head-to-head matchups have been largely in favor of the Mets. They've swooped most of the victories against the Royals in the recent past. And considering regular season records, the Mets have a stronger win-loss ratio that should provide them some mental comfort.
