My Prediction
Cincinnati Reds by 2Folks, I mean, esteemed audience, here we are with the Colorado Rockies heading to Cincinnati to challenge the Reds. The Rockies got Austin Gomber on the mound, who seems to have tripped over a rut this season with a 6.15 ERA and 1.62 WHIP (Heads up, fellas!). The Reds are countering with Nick Martínez who's bobbing around with a 5.01 ERA and a slightly less troubling WHIP at 1.25.
For the Rockies, look to Tyler Freeman and Mickey Moniak to keep the runs coming. The boys did a stellar job keeping their bats swinging last season with Freeman boasting a .356 average and Moniak close on his heels at .348.
On the other side, look out for the moderately intimidating duo of Elly De La Cruz and Spencer Steer. Maintaining respective averages of .324 and .316, these boys can hit.
The Rockies have been known to traverse turbulent tracks in the past with an unfortunate 22-73 win-loss record, compared to Reds' almost respectable 49-47. We can't forget the recent past matchups, where the teams have engaged in bare-knuckled brawls. The last five clashes leaned in favor of the Reds, 3-2.
Taking the fight to the Great American Ball Park, a venue that flatters the batters, and the recent hot streak of the Reds, I'd say we are set for quite the showdown, aren't we?
