Los Angeles Angels by 2Allow me to break down this nail-biter between the Seattle Mariners and the Los Angeles Angels real quick. The Angels' home turf in Anaheim seems to have a slight preference for batters, as if the spectacle of home runs wasn't already engaging enough.
Now, let's focus on the men on the mound. Mariners' George Kirby has managed to summon an ERA of 8.86 this season which frankly, isn't exactly reminiscent of Cy Young. Now contrast that to Tyler Anderson of the Angels who's not faring too bad with a 3.96 ERA and a WHIP of 1.26. Based on the raw numbers, the scale is tilting towards Anderson.
On the Seattle side, Cal Raleigh and Julio Rodriguez are putting up decent numbers, making opposing pitchers break a sweat, while over in Angels-ville, Zachary Neto and Jo Adell seem to be doing well to keep the scoreboard ticking.
In terms of their tango in the past, well, the Angels seem to dance just slightly better. But the Mariners aren't too far behind in this salsa - even their regular season records doesn't seem to differ by a lot. Recently, the Mariners have had a few hard knocks while the Angels despite flapping their wings against Boston, managed to hold their own.
