This exhilarating showdown is set to go down at the American Family Field, known for its fair, middle-of-the-road conditions that neither favor pitchers nor batters. Perfectly balanced, as all things should be, me thinks.
Now the guys on the mound. San Diego is sending out Ryan Bergert, and let me tell ya, he's been kissing lady luck with that 2.00 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in only five appearances so far. Meanwhile, Milwaukee's banking on their old reliable, Freddy Peralta, who's toting a bit higher 2.94 ERA, but 1.22 WHIP. Not the worst we've seen, especially as he knows how to dish out strikeouts.

Coming to bat for Brewers, we have Christian Yelich with a 0.290 average and equal 16 RBIs, along with some hot bats from Sal Frelick and Rhys Hoskins. Don't discount Hoskins' 5 homers and 19 RBIs, though, that could be the wild card in this stock.
A quick glance at history unveils a pretty robust tango between the two with Brewers seemingly taking the edge in recent times. But don't let that be the final judge; we all know baseball is a surprise soup.
The Padres come with a regular season record of 36-27 and the Brewers a tad behind at 35-30. The last few games, though, tell a different story as Padres seems to be riding the struggle bus, while Brewers are demonstrating a solid stance.
With all this maze of data and do-dads, it's easy to get lost. But I'm not a guy who likes dilly-dallying. Based on the Salaam of statistics, the mysterious art of fortune telling gives a slight nudge towards...
