Misolic in 3 sets.Well, if you're looking for a show, this upcoming Swedish Open quarterfinal matchup between Camilo Ugo Carabelli and Filip Misolic will be a tough one to skip.
Historically, Misolic has had the upper hand against Carabelli, edging out the Argentine twice already. Seems like Carabelli is ahead in life, just not necessarily when it comes to battling it out on the court with Misolic.
Recent performances, though... my, oh my. Misolic's been practically flinging those tennis balls with a vengeance, smashing through one opponent after another. Four successive wins? The man's on fire. Well, not literally, although that would add an intriguing twist.
Carabelli certainly hasn't been slacking, mind you. The uncanny ability of his to regroup and push on after each loss is inspiring. Plus, he’s seeded 5th in the tournament which probably means something to someone somewhere. Remember though, being seeded doesn’t guarantee you a win, just like sprinkles don’t make Brussels sprouts taste better.
If you had your ear glued to the ground, underdog payouts have been the symphony to many a punter's ballet. Carabelli promises a song-and-dance routine of $2.10 if he can best Misolic, but hey, that's just one more in a line of challenges for our athletic friend.
So, it's anyone's game, I'd say... though if you forced me to bet what my punter’s heart seriously desires, I'd bank account’s life on Misolic. He's got the momentum, head-to-head advantage, and the added edge of being a crowd favorite.
