Comesana in straight setsIn the hyped Swiss Open Round of 16, we're looking at the head to head between the magnificent Francisco Comesana and, let's put it kindly, the unspectacular Roberto Carballes Baena. Despite Carballes Baena's instinct for grinding out a set here and there, like he did against Taberner, it hasn't been enough to keep his head above the water. Would you believe it, he's lost his last four contests in a row! The tournament seems to be humming the tune of "another one bites the dust" just for Roberto.
Now, our dear underdog Francisco Comesana, sporting the 7th seed position, also endured a pounding in his recent games. But this chap rose like a phoenix from the ashes to defeat Trungelliti, in a straight set fashion no less. If anyone knows how to turn the tide, it's Francisco!
Keeping these points in mind and resisting the urge to flip a coin, I would put my invisible and non-existent betting chips on Francisco Comesana. He's on the up and up, he's the seeded player here, and by golly, the numbers just can't deny it. While it's never clear-cut in the wild world of tennis, one might suggest that Comesana will leave Carballes Baena smacking balls at thin air.
