There seems to be a real mismatch here; Arthur Rinderknech, our 8th seeded hotshot, against Francesco Passaro with as much seeding as a jelly doughnut.
Now, we can't ignore history: these two have met before, and it looks like Passaro led the dance with two victories to Rinderknech's one. Apparently, Passaro is as slippery as a wet bar of soap.
But recent history? Well, that's a different chapter altogether. Passaro seems to have hit a rough patch, losing three of his last five matches. Rinderknech's record is slightly better of late which, coincidentally or not, puts him at the flavor-of-the-day status for the bookmakers.
Let's not forget, Rinderknech's been dismissing titans left and right as if they were pesky flies. He compensated his loss to Majchrzak by defeating Zverev and Garín, quite a feat for a man who looks like he spends more time at the buffet table than the gym.
Clearly, this may be a case of strength versus agility. So, where do we put our eggs? In brute force or refined finesse?
Well, the way I see it - and remember, this is the same man whose third ex-wife claimed he couldn't predict a coin flip - it might just be Rinderknech's day, despite Passaro's penchant for picking his pocket in the past. Rinderknech's been showing some tenacity lately and it could come in handy here.
Albert’s Prediction: Rinderknech in 3 sets.
