Draper in 3 setsA delightful encounter on the cards here at the Rolex Monte Carlo Masters as Jack Draper squares off against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina. Now, if we're going by seeds alone, this would be a no-brainer - Draper is sitting pretty at number 5, while Fokina doesn't have a seed to his name.
Taking a stroll down the recent results lane, Draper's been on a good run with four out of his five last matches reporting a victory for him. On the other hand, Fokina's performance has been as consistent as my last diet - he's had a win-loss-win-loss scenario going on. Recent tennis history tells us they both put Shelton B. in his place, but Draper did it without losing a single set.
Alright, it's prediction time. Now, Draper is the favorite here, not only because of the tennis gods, but also because there's a cute little puppy waiting for him back home. Just kidding, it's because he's been playing better and has the superior seed. Fokina might not go so gently into that good night though, given his rather seesawing performance.
