Folks, I am as surprised as you are to set my wily eyes on this matchup between Tomas Martin Etcheverry and Alex de Minaur. Let's talk turkey here. Sure, the payout data is exciting if you're placing your hopes on an unseeded player like Etcheverry, but let's not forget the last time these two tangoed on the tennis court, it was Etcheverry who went home with the proverbial and literal big cheese, winning 3 sets to love.
Now young de Minaur, the fifth seed in this shindig, has been on a rocky road of late. Had a good scrappy with Dimitrov and Medvedev, taking them down in two straight sets, only to drop a set against Musetti.
Then we've got Etcheverry, the wild card. Recent results are bit paler than we'd like to see. On paper he's losing more than a politician in a lie detector test, but this fella has heart.
