Cerundolo in straight sets.Don't clutch your chest in shock when you read this - Jan-Lennard Struff has been through a rough patch recently. I mean, we're not just talking about tripping over a pebble, we're talking full face-flat slide down the tennis court of life. Struff hasn't found victory in his last five outings. Is that a streak? Well, I suppose if you're going for biggest losing streak, it is. But let's not be too harsh, maybe he's been donating wins to the underprivileged.
On the other hand, we have a high roller here - Francisco Cerundolo climbing the ranks like a mountain goat on a caffeine high - seeded five, no less. His recent campaign includes some hiccups, mind you, but he's also been dishing out defeats to his counterparts like free canapés at a fancy party.
In all seriousness, when you look at the court-side story, Cerundolo is trailing smoke like a jet plane while Struff seems to be...well, let's just say he's stuck in the parking lot trying to start the car. There's no way around it: the odds lean heavily towards Cerundolo.
But a word to the wise - don't throw your money blindly without considering Struff's potential to rally. The world of sports can be as unpredictable as my cousin's mood swings after his team loses. But for this round, all signs point towards a Cerundolo win. While love may mean nothing in tennis, it’s looking pretty clear to me who’s getting the love here.
