Adelaide Crows by 29Giving a fine look to this tantalizing matchup, we've got the brave Adelaide Crows dueling with the noble Melbourne Demons. An epic AFL clash packed with more surprises than your Uncle's tall tales at the family cookout.
If past were to dictate the future, which I'm not saying it is, but suppose it does, the previously played games between these two would paint an interesting picture. The Demons had the last laugh the last two times these teams met head-to-head. But of course, as we all know, sports rarely bow to historical statistics alone. So let's not engrave "Melbourne For The Win!" on our beer mugs just yet.
Paying heed to the broader canvas of the regular season record, the Adelaide Crows seem to wear the crown with a solid 10-5 performance, head and shoulders above the Demons stumbling at a lackluster 5-10 record. Put mildly, the Demons have been flopping around recently about as gracefully as a kangaroo with a broken pogo stick.
Peeking at the recent fortunes of our teams will tell you that the Crows have been soaring through their competition, looking sharper than a chef's knife at a sushi bar. Cut contrastingly, the Demons have been, well, let's just say they've been on the business end of that metaphorical knife more often than not.
Taking a gander at the standings, our feathered friends from Adelaide are roosting comfortably up in the third spot, whereas the Demons, poor chaps, are languishing way down at spot 14.
So if my good ol' gut and these facts have a say, which I believe they do, it's looking like a day for Adelaide Crows to cement their dominance.
