Western Bulldogs by 42Ah, the great Aussie showdown between the North Melbourne Kangaroos and the Western Bulldogs, and believe me folks, I’ve seen more suspense in a sloth race. Any sharp-eyed punter having a butcher’s at the recent history of these two teams would already be loading up on the Doggies.
Our dear Kangaroos, down in the dumps with their 4-10-1 record, seem to be more comfortable at the bottom of the ladder than a termite colony. Recent results are equally depressing; they clung on against Carlton and West Coast, lost a close one to Fremantle, and then got served a hefty crow pie by Hawthorn.
Contrast that with the Bulldogs, sitting pretty at number 7 with a 9-6 record. Recent performances have been as striking as a firework show. They had the audacity to overpower mighty Sydney and Richmond, and only briefly stumbled against Hawthorn and Geelong.
The past match-ups skew heavily towards the Bulldogs. For those with late-onset amnesia, the Bulldogs not just won, but played fetch with the Kangaroos last four times they met.
So, bottom line - unless our underdog Kangaroos find a miraculous pouch of form, it'd take an asteroid strike at the Bulldogs' locker room to stop them from taking this one.
