Our beloved Swiss maiden, Simona Waltert, is coming off recent eye-catching performances, blowing her opposition off the court in straight sets. A little stumble here and there with a couple of minor setbacks failing to tarnish her rising stardom in the tennis circuit. A slight edge she carries in our match-up today, thanks to her deceptively gleaming form.
But let's not put our knickers in a twist. On the other side of the net, is Jil Teichmann. Or as I like to call her, the consistent one! This lovely lass with her well placed groundstrokes has been serving love to her opponents left and right, barring a couple of recent perplexing defeats. Her tournament seed undoubtedly amplifies the aura surrounding her on the court.
Each player showing a potent mix of power and precision, this tennis showdown at the Iași Open is set to be a cracker. Yet, my gut feeling along with a fifth cup of coffee nudges me towards Waltert. The unseeded wonder has the odds somewhat in her favor for today.
