Alexandrova in straight sets.
Carefully examining the recent performance data, there's certainly some sparks flying from both courtside camps, isn't there? Anna Bondar has shown us that she's got the potential to pull off a surprise, hasn't she? She certainly wiped the court with Kraus just the other day not to mention a solid performance against Akugue. But one has to question the consistency. Svitolina and Birrell both gave Bondar an unwanted run for her money.
Meanwhile, on the other front, Ekaterina...oh, Ekaterina Alexandrova, the prime seed, has been throwing down the gauntlet pretty convincingly, I must say. Sure Bencic managed to steal her thunder, but other than that little hiccup, she's been slicing through the opposition like a hot knife through butter with Werner and Vedder both feeling the sharp edge of her racket.
Considering the books are favoring Alexandrova and the tournament seeds are standing in agreement, yours truly is leaning towards Alexandrova for the win in this fateful quarterfinal matchup. She isn't the top seed for nothing, folks. The Bondar threat is very real but I'm not quite convinced it's enough to topple the rampaging Alexandrova. Tennis isn't just about love, it's a battlefield, and it seems like Alexandrova is ready to bring out the big guns.
So, without further delay, drum roll please, here's my prediction...
Albert's Prediction: Alexandrova in straight sets.
