My Prediction
Begu in straight setsDefinitely an interesting match on the cards here, folks. We've got a face-off between Romania's pride, Irina-Camelia Begu wearing the number 7 seed, and Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva, unseeded but looking to stir trouble.
I mean, let's look at the stats. Kasintseva has got spunk, evidenced by her recent win over Giulia Safina PoPa. However, she is standing on shaky ground, considering her match history with her sporadic wins and losses. It's like watching a soap opera with the plot constantly fluctuating. Full on melodrama, I tell you!
On the other hand, Begu, the seventh seed, juice and all, has been a formidable presence on the court. She gave it straight to Hibino N., not giving her any chance to breathe, nor draw on those chalk lines. But we all remember the heartbreak when Kasatkina D. squeezed past Begu back in July. I tell you, I was on the edge of my sofa stuffing popcorn into my face with a pit in my stomach. Shakes you up, doesn't it?
However, she's also given us some nail-biters, like her win over Katarina Juvan. Full of bounce, that match was!
Seems like Begu is like a pancake - a little flat but sweet, reliable and comes through when you need her. Yes, there have been stumbles here and there, like a clumsy cook in the kitchen, but who amongst us hasn't been tripped up by a rogue spatula?
Looking at the way the tennis balls are bouncing, I think we're going to see Begu wielding her racket like she was born with it. Kasintseva may lob and spin but Begu's got the home-court advantage and she's going to use every bit of it.
