Zheng in 3 setsIn this riveting matchup, we have the alluring Qinwen Zheng, number 7 seed, going face-to-face with the sturdy Barbora Krejcikova, who's sitting not too far off as the number 8 seed. All too poetic if you ask me.
In their latest melodrama, it was Zheng who emerged victorious after a nail-biting 2 sets to 1 duel. Here's an interesting morsel - the past tends to repeat itself. Our dear Barbora, however, shouldn't be written off in haste. Even though she might enlighten the audience with her exquisite dance of defeat, her recent results do hint at a certain determination.
When we dissect the recent form, it's evident that Barbora has been upping her game, taking down Gauff and Pegula, both in straight sets, no drama. But alas, she surrendered to the mighty force of Świątek and Andreeva. Tsk tsk.
Zheng, on the other hand, has graced her adoring fans with victories over Paolini, Rybakina, Kenin, and Shnaider recently. A lone blemish against Sabalenka, doesn't dampen the fervor and it's hard to deny her impressive form.
