My, oh my, do Mercury have some talent! Alyssa Thomas, performing with finesse and grace, continues to produce impressive stats with 15.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 10.2 assists just last month. Add Satou Sabally, a radiant star with captivating performance from last month registering 17 points per game, and you've got yourself a potent mix. And let's not skim past Kahleah Copper. Watching her play is like a symphony in puppetry, she moves on the court and the points follow.
Now, turning the page to the Golden State Valkyries, who are no slouches themselves. Kayla Thornton and Tiffany Hayes have been putting figures on the scoreboard as though they've got personal vendettas against the opponents' baskets. Notable season-long performances come from Thornton with 14.8 points, and Hayes with 13.4 points per game. And let's not forget Veronica Burton. If assists were apples, she'd have enough for a Thanksgiving pie with 5.4 per game this season.
The previous outing between these heavyweight contenders saw Phoenix Mercury putting the Valkyries on their heels with a comfortable win. However, the Valkyries are no wilting violets.
