It's a classic battle folks, the mighty Melbourne Storm taking on the shall-we-say, 'developing' Newcastle Knights. The Storm has been tearing it up this season, parked comfortably at the #2 spot in the NRL Premiership, while the Knights... well, they're certainly trying their best, bless them. Yet, sitting at #13 in the standings, it seems their best is someone else's Tuesday practice.
Looking at the past matchups and recent results, we see a bit of a pattern here. The Storm does like to rain on the Knights' parade, with 2 out of the 3 recent face-offs going in Melbourne's favor. And what about the Knights' recent results? Eh, a mixed bag to say the least. A couple of close losses, sure, but losses nevertheless. On the other hand, the Storm is coming in hot, with a string of confident victories under their belt.
I mean, it's round 19 folks, we're past the midway mark and its crunch time. Melbourne certainly seem more poised for a playoff position with their healthier record of 11-4 against the Knights' slightly distressing 6-10. Too many numbers for you? Don't fret my friend, here's the simpler version - expect the Storm to bring thunder, while the Knights are likely to bring a light drizzle, at best.
But hey, it's sports and wilder things have happened. Maybe the Knights find their inner champion and pull off a stunning upset against the Storm. I mean, sure, and maybe I'll finally start that diet I've been talking about since 2003.
Anyway, here comes the important moment, my prediction...
