Orix Buffaloes by 3Alright, let's roll up our sleeves and look at this showdown we've got coming up. It's the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles swooping into the Orix Buffaloes home pasture.
Now, the Buffaloes seem to have had their Wheaties recently, outclassing the Golden Eagles in their last couple of tête-à-têtes. It's like they've got an Eagle-specific repellent or something. History, it seems, isn't on the Golden Eagles' side for this one.
And if you're the kind of person who proudly displays every participation trophy you ever won, you might take heart in the fact that the Eagles held their own back in April and May. But let’s get real - a trophy for showing up won't light up the scoreboard.
Looking off to the season records, it's clear that someone at the Buffaloes camp has been doing their push-ups. With a stronger win-loss ratio, they're showing a little more meat on their, well, bones!
And as for the Eagles, I'd say they're a bit feather light on recent records too. They've been having a bit of a rough time trying to peck their way into the winner's circle. Not to give any spoilers, but it seems like they can't catch a worm these days.
In contrast, the Buffaloes are doing a fairly decent job. They slipped a bit here and there, but then again, life isn’t a fairytale; even Cinderella had her moments, right?
With all that being said, unless there's some kind of divine intervention or a landslide that somehow disrupts the Buffaloes' game, our Birds of Prey are going to need more than just a little bird seed to come out on top in this matchup.
