Orix Buffaloes by 2Ah, the sweet depth of the game. Today, we got the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles descending upon the grounds of the Orix Buffaloes, in a game that promises nothing short of a nail-biter, if past encounters are any indication. The last five face-offs hint at a slight upper hoof – er, hand – in favor of the Buffaloes. Though, for a moment there, the Golden Eagles did break from their cage to surprise us with a 14-3 wallop. Trust me, people, the echo of that stunner is still ricocheting off the stadium walls.
However, if tradition intends to hold ground, the Buffaloes have portrayed a more consistent performance during the regular season, with a favorable 36-28 win-loss ratio as opposed to the Golden Eagles’ dicey 32-34. But hey, who’s counting?
The Golden Eagles, recently, seem to be flexing their flight muscles a tad bit, showing an improvement in their last five games, winning three out of five. But the Buffaloes aren't out grazing, no sir. They’re keeping pace with three victories out their last five as well. It looks like the ante's being upped with every passing frame of this captivating game.
So, to cut a long story short – oversized foam fingers, popcorn and soda at the ready. The ballpark is set to be awash with the pulsating colors of the Golden Eagles and Buffaloes. The fiery competition, the thrill of the pitch, and the sweet – or bitter – taste of victory or defeat are all in the making.
