Houston Rockets by 2We've got a sizzler of a game coming up with the Houston Rockets squaring off against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Let's chat Rockets first. We've got Alperen Sengun at the helm and that lad has been a study in consistency, with his performance pretty much echoing last month's heroic stats of a whopping 19.5 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 4.9 assists per game - an impressive feat by any standard. Then there's Amen Thompson with a respectable 17.3 points per game, boosted by a strong 10.5 rebounds per game last month. Jalen Green rounds off the trio with a show-stopping 25.3 points per game last month, backed by handy assists and rebounds.
Now onto the Grizzlies' side of the court. Jaren Jackson Jr. with an impressive last month stat of 24.7 points per game is leading the charge. Desmond Bane's dazzling performances have netted him an average of 21.5 points per game last month along with smart rebounds and assists. Then, of course, we have Ja Morant who may have cooled off a little bit, but is still putting up an admirable 18.1 points per game.
If we go by the annals of history, the past match-ups have been a bit of love in the times of cholera for both teams, with neither maintaining a clear dominance. Yet, a keen eye may discern that the Rockets have had a slight upper hand recently. Regular season records put the Rockets in a slightly better shape than the Grizzlies and if you're the kind of person who likes to go by the placement in the Standings - well, the Rockets are inching slightly ahead at #2.
However, if you've been following the recent games, the Rockets' trajectory seems to be on a bit of a roller coaster ride, while the Grizzlies have maintained a fairly steady climb with some occasional pitfalls.
As your not-so-humble analyst, I'm going to put my reputation on the line here. Drum roll, please...
