New York Knicks by 4Apologies for any minor mischief, ladies and gents, but let's look at this monumental NBA matchup between the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks. It’s about as exciting as watching paint dry on a Tuesday afternoon, but I assure you, it's actually a rather important shindig.
Let's talk turkey - the Denver Nuggets are galloping out of the gates this season. Nikola Jokić, my man, stacking numbers with 29 points and 13.9 rebounds just in the last month. Not to mention he's a double threat with 11.4 assists. Jamal Murray isn't far off either with 20.7 points and an impressive assist average too. Russell Westbrook and Michael Porter Jr. are just the icing on this rather competitive cake. But the Knicks aren't exactly pushovers, folks.
It’s a classic East vs. West showdown with Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson flexing for the New Yorkers. The former has been scoring an impressive 26.2 points per game in the last month and gobbling up 14.6 rebounds, while Brunson is dropping a phenomenal 28.5 points. Josh Hart is lending a hand too with some nifty 13.4 points and a jaw-dropping 12.6 rebounds last month. So with these statistics in mind, we could be in for a thrilling match-up.
The Knicks do love to put victory in the books when squaring off against the Nuggets. Looking back, their recent head-to-heads do point to some dominance with an especially interesting 145 to 118 win on November 26, 2024. Nevertheless, the Nuggets are known for pulling a wild card when least expected.
The teams stack up pretty evenly in terms of their seasons as well. The Nuggets trail a wee bit behind with 28 wins and 18 losses against 31 wins and 16 losses for the Knicks. Though, the Nuggets did beat Philadelphia with a whopping 144 to 109 result recently. I call that as much of a comeback as a sequin fanny pack.
