My Prediction
New York Mets by 2As we gear up for this clash of the New York titans, it's a fair bet to see a showdown between the Mets' Frankie Montas and the Yankees' Carlos Rodon on the pitcher's mound. Carlos has been smacking them down this season with a 2.99 ERA in 18 appearances while Frankie, although he's had a rougher start this year, showed a glint of his prowess last playoff season. This game is anybody's guess!
Over in the hitter's corner, The Bronx Bombers have a mighty trio up their sleeves. Aaron Judge and co. have been on a home run spree, outshining the Mets' top hits, at least in terms of raw power. Jasson Dominguez and Jazz Chisholm Jr. with their proficient batting averages and RBIs are not to be discounted either, making every at-bat an event to watch.
However, the Metropolitans are not to be outdone. Spearheaded by the formidable Juan Soto and Pete Alonso, their offensive skills can't be ignored. And when Brandon Nimmo isn't stealing bases, he's busting a move in the batter's box.
Previous face-offs have been a smorgasbord of rivalry, each team taking a few. However, the record tilts in the Mets' favor with a notch over .500 compared to the Yankees' recent slump in form. Not to forget, the battle is at Citi Field - a playground more tailored for pitchers.
Here's the kicker, don't anticipate a landslide.
